Meet The Team
Dr Laura Lederman
DVM
I am Dr. Laura Lederman, the owner of Genesee Veterinary Hospital and your neighborhood veterinarian. My journey in the veterinary field began in high school, and I earned my veterinary degree from Ross University after completing my clinical training at Auburn University (War Eagle!) in 2014.
Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, my love for the outdoors and cold weather brought my family and me to Colorado in 2018. My clinical interests include dentistry, pediatrics, palliative care, and dermatology.
When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me running on Genesee Mountain Trail, skiing, or shopping at Target. Stop by and say hi! You might also meet my future associates, Ashton and Penelope, or see one of my four fur babies: Mila, Finley, Ruby, or Serena.
Maria Reyes
Hospital Manager
I began my career in veterinary medicine in 1983 as a kennel assistant and worked my way up to hospital administrator. I graduated from St. Petersburg college with an AS in Veterinary Technology and am now a Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT). I have returned to school for my Certified Practice Manager degree. I live in Jasper Florida where I manage GVH remotely. I have loved animals as long as I can remember and now have a farm. I have dogs, cats, chickens, birds (Frank, my Eclectus is in the picture), and a steer that I raised by hand 14 years ago. We all live on 30 acres where we frequently see deer and turkey. I am excited to be part of the new team at Genesee Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Jonit Greenberger
DVM, CCRT, CVA
I have wanted to be a veterinarian since I was in kindergarten, and grew up volunteering at vet clinics, wildlife rehabilitation facilities and animal shelters. I studied veterinary medicine at Tufts University in Massachusetts, where I was first introduced to the ideas of multimodal pain management, and functional rehabilitation. As a new graduate, I was fortunate to connect with the dogsledding community, which fueled my interest in sports medicine and inspired me to pursue certifications in Rehabilitation Therapy through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute, and in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine through the Chi Institute in 2012. Since then, I have pursued advanced training in manual therapies, wildlife rehabilitation, herbal and nutritional medicine, and osteopathy. In March of 2025, my family and I moved from Oregon to the Genesee area to be closer to extended family. I look forward to using my skills to empower my clients and patients at Genesee Vet in their pursuit of an active and healthy mountain lifestyle.
Ryan Perozo
Veterinary Assistant
Originally from Florida, Ryan moved to Colorado in February 2025. Growing up on a farm, he was surrounded by animals from an early age, which sparked his lifelong love for them. Ryan has quickly embraced Colorado’s great outdoors and enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with his French Bulldog, Ellie. He is excited to be part of the GVH family and looks forward to meeting everyone and their pets!
Sarah Pickens
Technician Assistant
Sarah is a technician assistant who grew up on her grandparents’ farm in Georgia, where her love of animals began before she could even walk. From rescuing turtles on the roadside to nursing sick kittens and caring for countless strays, she always knew animal care was more than just a passion—it was her calling.
In 2015, Sarah left the South for the West, moving to Jackson, Wyoming, where she spent nearly a decade gaining hands-on experience in veterinary medicine. Recently, she relocated to Golden, Colorado, drawn once again by her love for the mountains.
Sarah shares her life with Aldo, a spirited cattle dog–border collie mix she rescued and rehabilitated in Wyoming. The two have been inseparable ever since. Outside of the hospital, Sarah enjoys camping, hiking, off-roading, paddleboarding, live music, and making memories with Aldo.
Maria Victoria
Veterinary Assistant
Maria Victoria has been passionate about veterinary medicine since the age of 16. She continues to enjoy learning and growing in all aspects of veterinary care. Outside of work, Maria loves spending time with her two cats, Katara and Dipsy. She also enjoys hiking, crafting, and exploring new cafés in her free time.
Alex Lederman
Co-Owner/Marketing
Originally from South Florida, I never quite enjoyed the heat, hurricanes, sand, or mosquitoes. In 2018, my family and I relocated to Denver to embrace the quintessential Colorado lifestyle. I bring over 10 years of experience in both digital and traditional marketing. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me mountain biking, skiing, running, or hiking with my dog, Oliver—or spending time with my two kids, Ashton and Penelope. There’s a good chance you’ll bump into me on the chairlift at Loveland. Occasionally, you can also find me up front at the clinic, helping check in pets for their appointments.
